OVERVIEW
This course was formerly called Safety Induction Course (Manhole) – for Supervisors. The WSQ Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation is one of the core units in all process sectors of Process Industry.
The job roles / occupations that this unit would be relevant to may include the following parties related to / in the process industry:
- Supervisor
- rescue personnel
- manager
- company safety personnel
- engineers
- technician / operators
- Identify duties and responsibilities of a Confined Space Supervisor under the WSH legislations and Codes of Practice.
- Identify, prevent and control confined space hazards
- Carry out and comply with the requirements of Confined Space Entry Permit System using a systematic approach
- Apply Gas Detection Instruments and other control measures when working in confined space
- Implement the safe use of personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment when in a confined space
- Assist in implementing an Emergency Response Plan
Upon completion of this unit, learners will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a supervisor working in a Confined Space
Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 5 under Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5 or equivalent
‘O’ level completed for Singaporeans

Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) for Indians

Training Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)) will receive an enhanced subsidy of up to 20% – points above the baseline course fee subsidies. - For Singaporeans aged 25 and above, you can choose to tap on your SkillsFuture Credit to offset out-of-pocket expenses for this training
