OVERVIEW
The aim of the course is to provide Work-At-Height (WAH) knowledge to conduct WAH activities, participants will learn about: • Risk Assessment for Work At Height • Work At Height Legislation • Ladders and Step Platforms • Principles of Fall Protection • Personal Protection Equipment for Work At Height • Practical lessons on harness fitting, harness suspension, retractable fall arrestors, twin lanyards, ladder systems • Fall Rescue and Suspension Trauma • Fall prevention plan and emergency preparedness
Workers who are required to perform WAH activities.
- Legislation and guidelines pertaining to WAH
- Types of WAH equipment and unsafe practices with their use
- Criteria for selection of WAH equipment
- Fall arrest system and fall prevention systems
- WAH equipment inspection and record keeping
- WAH hazard identification
- WAH fall control measures
At the end of the course, the participants shall be able to:
Perform checks before and after use of Work at height (WAH) Equipment
Perform proper use of WAH equipment in accordance to relevant legislation and guidelines, including evaluating use of fall arrest and fall prevention systems
Perform self relief techniques during harness suspension trauma situations
Learners are assumed to have: Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy Level 3 and above Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 3 and above |

- From 1st Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding has been revised to a baseline of up to 50% of the Course fee for certifiable courses approved by SSG.
- Enterprises and individuals who qualify for SSG’s enhanced subsidy schemes (SkillsFuture Mid-career Enhanced Subsidy and Enhanced
Training Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)) will receive an enhanced subsidy of up to 20% – points above the baseline course fee subsidies. - For Singaporeans aged 25 and above, you can choose to tap on your SkillsFuture Credit to offset out-of-pocket expenses for this training
