Course Overview

On completion of this unit, learners will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a supervisor working in a confined space.

This course is a mandatory training course for individuals who are assigned to undertake the role of a supervisor in the construction Industry.

Who should attend this Course?

Construction Site Supervisors, Project Co-coordinators, Foreman, Site engineer, Clerks-of-Works and general workers in the construction industry.

Engineering graduates or individuals with diploma qualifications and above who wish to work in the construction industry.

  • ico Explain and interpret salient WSH legislations and other requirements relevant to construction industry
  • ico Describe the WSH duties and responsibilities of a supervisor in construction industry
  • ico Assist in safety and health planning and organization at worksite
  • ico Identify WSH hazards, evaluate and control risks in construction industry in accordance with risk management process
  • ico Carry out WSH inspections in accordance with organizational inspection procedures
  • ico Conduct incident investigation and prepare report in accordance with legal requirements and other organizational requirements

Course Content

  • Identify duties and responsibilities of a Confined Space Supervisor under the WSH legislations and Codes of Practice
  • Identify, prevent and control confined space hazards
  • Carry out and comply with the requirements of the Confined Space Entry Permit System using a systematic approach
  • Apply Gas Detection Instruments and other control measures when working in confined space
  • Implement the safe use of personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment when in a confined space
  • Assist in implementing an Emergency Response Plan

  • Training – 29 hours
  • Assessment – 3 hours

Assessment - Written test / Written Assignment / Case Study

Certification -A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded upon completion of each unit.

Pre-requisites

Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 4 under Employability Skills System (ESS) or equivalent

Price of Course - $250/- (subject to GST)

After SDF Funding : S$25 (up to 90%, subject to WDA Terms and Conditions Apply)

Funding Info - To be eligible for funding, participants must attend at least 75% of each module of the course.
