Course Overview

To familiarize participants on:

  • icoOverview of WSH Act and subsidiary legislations including practical information on supervising WSH at workplace
  • icoSafety and Health Duties of a Supervisor
  • icoOutlining safety planning and organisation
  • icoIdentifying job hazards and apply control measures
  • icoAssisting in carrying out risk assessment for work activities
  • icoConducting safety inspections
  • icoIdentifying the causes of accidents and recommend preventive measures
  • icoConducting investigation and prepare an incident report

Who should attend this Course?

This Course is a mandatory training course for individuals who are to undertake the role of a Supervisor in the marine industry.

Workplace Safety and Health (Shipbuilding and Ship-Repairing) Regulations 2008 Reg. 6 (8) stipulates that: “It shall be the duty of every person not to oversee or supervise any work (including any process) in the shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour unless he has received adequate safety and health training to ensure that the work that he oversees or Supervises can be carried out safely.

Trainer : Trainee Ratio - 1 : 30

Assessment - Written and practical / Role play / Case study

Certification - Upon successful completion of the course a safety Pass and certificate endorsed by Greensafe International Pte Ltd will be issued the participants.

Pre-requisites

1. Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 and above, or equivalent
